The Missing Lynx', ready to compete at next Oscars

The animation film submitted the documentation and will be on show in Los Angeles for two weeks

The Spanish animation film El Lince Perdido, or The Lost Lynx, is set to compete for the Oscars 2010 after having submitted the required documentation to the Academy of Hollywood.
The film, produced by Antonio Banderas and directed by Raul Garcia, was premiered in Los Angeles on Friday, October 30, and will be on show at theatres for a week, which is the minimum period for the works aiming at a nomination for the statuettes.

The movie features a group of animals looking for a way off of an eccentric billionaire's own personal Noah's Ark.

The Lost Lynx was awarded by the Spanish Film Academy in 2009 with a Goya prize for the best animated work of the year. Its Spanish premiere took place in December 2008.

Among the favourite films selected for the Oscars are Up, The Princess and the Frog, Astro Boy, Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and Planet 51, another Spanish production which is being premiered in November.

I would give it to Ice Age 3. Good story and incredible animation.
