Oh and wonderful work, all of you.
Damn that's some competition.
Note: I don't really know if the story is too much.
Let me know if it is.

Afraid no More
He woke up from a heartbreaking scream.
Though he hadn't recognized the sound of his own voice,
it didn't take long for him to realise it was himself.
Tears streamed down his face as he jumped out of bed,
fetched his clothes and got dressed.
He needed to see her. It was time to put all of this misery,
all of this doubt to an end.
The car coughed a few times before the engine came to life.
He was driving way too fast and insecure, but he was determined to get there fast.
The rubble under the wheels of the car was almost too loud for his head,
as he drove up to the dark deserted house.
The throbbing of his heart, almost killed the sound of the shrieking door, as he gently opened it.
The staircase seemed too long, too many steps, his breathing quickening.
She seemed asleep as he entered the cold bedroom.
Her body coiled up on a couch, wearing nothing but a thin robe.
He felt his body responding but willed it away.
It was en entirely different reason to why he had come.
She was pretending.
He knew it. He could feel it in the air.
“Why the pretend? I know you don't sleep at night, right?”
His voice was thick with anticipation, doubt and fear.
When her eyes opened he automatically stepped back.
Her eyes which was normally blue as the ocean, had turned black,
the silvery shimmer in them, wrong, it was simply wrong.
Her movement were fast and fluent and it only took a second
to have him backed up against the wall, his throat in her hand.
“Why have you come?” She hissed, the aching inside of her,
threatening to split her into two. She tried to fight her feelings.
A part of her wanted to love him.
The other, to eat him.
“You can do both.” He whispered, as if he had heard her thoughts.
The feeling of her teeth sinking into his flesh, made him close his eyes.
Slowly sliding down the cool wall, his body slumped to the ground.
It only took a few moments until his eyes opened again.
He was afraid no more.
Neat story, Lu!
The quote is from Tennyson, btw.
